A nutritionist or dietitian gives personalised advice on what to eat to manage a health condition or improve wellbeing. Diet is a key part of treatment for diabetes, kidney disease, heart disease, pregnancy, and children who are not gaining weight.
In Bangladesh, clinical nutritionists usually have a BSc/MSc in Food and Nutrition or Clinical Nutrition and work with doctors at hospitals and diagnostic centres. Bring your recent blood reports and medicine list so the diet plan fits your treatment.

Registration: every MBBS and BDS doctor must be registered with the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC). You can check a doctor's registration number on the BMDC website.
Hospital and chamber: a nutritionist attached to a medical college or large hospital has easy access to tests and admission if you need them. For regular follow-up, a chamber close to home with convenient visiting hours often matters just as much.
Experience with your problem: many specialists have a special interest within their field. Read the designation and degrees on each profile, and ask at the first visit how often the doctor treats your condition.
