Buying medicine at a pharmacy
Show the pharmacist your prescription and ask for the exact brand and strength written by your doctor. If that brand is not available, a pharmacist may offer another company's brand of the same generic medicine; check the strength matches before you accept it.
Always check the expiry date and that the packaging is sealed. Antibiotics, sleeping pills and other prescription-only medicines should only be bought with a valid prescription, and the full course should be finished as the doctor advised.
